Bay Area & Silicon Valley · regional
Bay Area web design, with the coverage stated honestly.
We build and rank sites for businesses across the nine counties. We compete in the map pack in ten South Bay cities. Those are different promises and most agencies blur them — this page is where we keep them apart.

Two different products wearing the same word
“We serve the entire Bay Area” appears on nearly every agency site in this region and it is doing two jobs at once. One of them is true and one of them usually is not.
Building a website is location-independent. A page loads the same in Santa Rosa as it does in Santa Clara, and ranking that page organically for a query works the same way regardless of where the developer sits. Across all nine counties, this is a genuine yes.
Getting into the map pack— the box of three businesses above the results with the pins and the stars — is not location-independent at all. Proximity to the person searching is around 55% of that ranking. It is the single largest factor and there is no technique that overrides it.
So when a Bay Area agency implies both, ask which one they mean. We mean the first everywhere and the second in ten named cities.
What we turn down
We have declined map pack work in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, both markets where we could plausibly have taken a retainer and built organic city pages. Not because the organic work would fail — it would not — but because one Milpitas profile cannot legitimately serve three metros, and a client hearing “Bay Area, LA and Vegas” reasonably assumes local search results in all three.
The same rule that rules us out there is the one that makes us competitive here, so we are not going to be selective about when it applies.
What the Silicon Valley context actually changes
Not the price. Not the technology. What changes is the expectation your customer arrives with, and the competition for their attention.
This is a region where a plumbing customer’s day job might involve shipping software, and where the local restaurant down the road has a better site than most mid-sized companies elsewhere. The floor is higher. A site that looks like it was last touched in 2016 reads as a business that might not answer the phone.
The counter-intuitive part is that this does not mean spending more. It means shipping something fast, current and unmistakably maintained. Our builds run under about 100KB with no raster images — every graphic is inline SVG, hand-written rather than assembled from a theme — which is why they load instantly on a phone with two bars and why we can change your prices the same day you call.
Region hub, then cities, in that order
If you genuinely operate across several Bay Area cities, the structure that works is a regional hub page linking out to real city pages beneath it — not thirty near-identical city pages sitting flat.
A multi-city service business adding around five genuine city pages is reported to see a 40–60% lift in local traffic; twenty-plus cities organised under regional hubs, considerably more. Those are reported figures rather than anything we will guarantee, and the word carrying the weight in both of them is genuine. Five real pages beat thirty templated ones, and thirty templated ones are a liability rather than a slow win.
Which is why we grow at one page a month under the retainer and run the swap test on every one before it ships.
Start with your own city page
This page is the umbrella. The pages that will actually do work for you are the specific ones: Milpitas, San Jose, or the eight other cities on our service areas page. If you are in San Francisco or Oakland, call us and we will tell you honestly which half of this you should buy.
Bay Area · straight answers
What regional businesses ask.
Do you work in San Francisco and Oakland?
For the website, yes, and for organic search, yes. For the Google map pack in those cities, no — and we would rather lose the sale than pretend otherwise.
Proximity is roughly 55% of local pack ranking. From a Milpitas base we cannot put a San Francisco business into the SF map pack, and neither can anyone else without an actual San Francisco presence. What we can do is build the site and rank it organically, which is a real and separate thing.
What counts as "the Bay Area" for you?
Two different answers depending on what you are buying, and the distinction is the whole point of this page.
Website builds and organic SEO: anywhere in the nine-county region. Distance does not degrade a page. In-person work and realistic map pack competition: the ten South Bay cities within about a 30-minute drive of Milpitas — Milpitas, San Jose, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Fremont, Cupertino, Mountain View, Campbell, Los Gatos and Palo Alto.
Why is the bar for a website higher here?
Because your customer probably works in tech, and their baseline for what a competent website looks like was set by companies with design teams.
A site that would read as perfectly fine in most of the country reads as neglected in Silicon Valley. It does not mean spending more — it means being fast, current and obviously maintained. Correct hours, real photos, a phone link that works on the first tap.
Is $250 really the price in this market?
Yes, once, plus $40 a month. We are deliberately at the bottom of the Bay Area range because the recurring work is where the business is, not the build.
What that price does not include: e-commerce, booking systems, custom illustration or a fifteen-page build. If you need one of those we will say so on the call rather than quietly stretching the scope.
Call and we'll tell you which half applies to you.
Ten minutes. If you're outside the South Bay we'll say what we can and can't move, and you can decide whether that's worth buying.
A person answers. Fixed prices: $250 + $40/mo, $199/mo, $175/mo — or all three for $325/mo.
