Score your Google Business Profile out of 100.

Twelve questions, about two minutes, no sign-in and nothing installed. Open your profile in another tab and answer honestly — the score is only worth what you put into it.

Categories
Does your primary category exactly describe your main service?

The primary category is the highest-weighted thing on the profile you control, and most owners set it once at signup and never revisit it.

How many secondary categories do you have?

Profiles carrying roughly four accurate secondary categories show the best average map rank. Fewer leaves reach on the table; more is padding.

Have you compared your categories against the businesses ranking above you in the last year?

The fastest category audit there is: search your main term on Maps, look at the top three, and find the categories all of them share that you do not have.

Reviews
How many reviews have you received in the last 90 days?

Velocity beats lifetime count. Forty reviews with four from this month generally outperform two hundred that stopped two years ago.

What share of your reviews have an owner reply?

Reply rate is visible, entirely within your control, and most profiles are poor at it. Target 80% or better across the whole history, not just recent ones.

How quickly do you typically reply to a new review?

A same-day reply to a bad review changes what the next customer reads. A reply three weeks later is filed under damage control.

Completeness
Is your services section filled in with everything you sell?

If a service is not listed on the profile, you effectively do not exist for it. It is one of the most under-filled sections there is.

Is your business description written, with the important part first?

You get 750 characters and only the first ~250 are visible before a "More" link that most people never tap.

Have you added photos in the last 90 days?

Photos are for conversion and profile completeness. Not for ranking — and definitely not geotagged, which controlled testing debunked.

Are your hours correct, including holiday hours?

Wrong hours produce the worst outcome in local search: someone drives to you, or calls, and you are closed.

Setup & risk
Is your business name on the profile exactly your real business name?

Keyword-stuffed names work briefly and then get profiles suspended. The August 2025 spam update targeted exactly this.

If you travel to customers, is your address hidden and your service area realistic?

A displayed address on a service-area business is a common suspension trigger, and Google documents that service areas should not exceed roughly two hours’ driving time.

How this is weighted, and why

Categories, 25 points. The primary category is the highest-weighted thing on the profile you control, and about four accurate secondaries is where profiles show the best average map rank.

Reviews, 30 points. Roughly a sixth of local ranking weight and rising, and reply rate is the part almost nobody manages deliberately. Recency beats lifetime count.

Completeness, 25 points. Services, description, photos, hours. If a service is not listed, you do not exist for it.

Setup and risk, 20 points. The two things that actually get profiles suspended: keywords in the business name, and a displayed address on a business that travels to customers.

What it asks

All 12 questions, listed.

No hidden scoring. If you would rather work through these yourself with a notepad and never speak to us, that is a completely legitimate use of this page.

About this tool.

Is the score real, or is it designed to sell me something?

It is real, and it is possible to score 100 and be told to go away. The weighting is the same one we use internally — categories 25 points, reviews 30, completeness 25, setup and suspension risk 20 — and every one of those weights maps to an evidence claim we make on our service pages.

A grader that returns a bad score no matter what you enter is a lead-generation device wearing a diagnostic costume. If you finish with nothing to fix, the tool tells you that your profile is not your bottleneck.

Does it connect to my Google account?

No. Nothing is installed, nothing is connected, and you do not sign in to anything. It is a set of questions about your own profile that you answer by looking at it in another tab.

Everything runs in your browser. Nothing is transmitted anywhere unless you choose to fill in the callback form at the end.

Why do I have to give a phone number for the full list?

Because that is the trade, and we would rather state it than hide it. The score is free and the two highest-priority fixes are shown free. The rest of the list unlocks with a name and a number.

We use it to call you about your profile. Not a newsletter, not a list, not sold to anyone.

Why is there no question about posting or geotagged photos?

Because scoring you on those would be scoring you on advice we no longer believe.

Weekly posts do not move rankings — a controlled nine-week study across 441 keywords found no movement. Photo geotagging was debunked by controlled testing. Citation count is worth roughly seven percent and plateaus after thirty or forty listings. All three are staples of agency audit tools, and all three would inflate your score without improving your business.

Or skip the questions and just call.

We'll open your profile while you're on the phone and read it back to you — the same twelve things, checked against the businesses actually ranking above you.
